The brightness of the Orbit's non-glaring 1-watt LED can be adjusted thanks to its dimming switch, while the dual reflectors and frosted globe maximize light output and minimize the lantern's shadow. Another reason to camp is to promote togetherness on family vacations, forcing everyone to work together. I have vivid memories of a camping trip twenty odd years ago with a new tent for which we forgot the instructions… I do recommend putting the instructions on your checklist by the way.

A checklist will allow you to be prepared for your trip and minimize the chance of forgetting important items. Unfortunately it's often very hard to buy the items you have forgotten when you arrive at your camping destination. Or you can buy them but you wind up paying a very high price for the items).

Camping Equipment – How Much Gear Do I Need?

Camping trips can be a fun adventure for the entire family. But if you're traveling without the proper camping equipment your trip can sour easily. It's not necessary to run out and purchase a bunch of expensive gear, but a few durable items will serve you well.

One item that is worth spending the extra money on is a tent. Since this item will serve as your protection from not only the weather, but animals and bugs you're going to want something sturdy. Multiple sets of batteries are also crucial. Most campers will need to get around at night at some point and without batteries for your flashlight, you're in trouble. For your cooking gear, non-stick pans and pots are easiest to deal with.
