Basics Of Camping

Camping trips are always exciting. What could be better than getting the clean fresh air that only natural settings can provide? Unfortunately, camping trips may also lead to serious injury or even death. You'll be away from civilization and around dangerous animals, bugs, and even plants. One should always plan in advance of a camping trip so that they can be fully prepared for any emergencies. In this article I'll give you a few sound pieces of advice to consider before going camping.

Firstly, you need to take care of the basic needs like food, clothing, and shelter. Check the forecast before you head out, but don't take it for granted that the weather will be true to the forecast. For instance, bring rain gear even if the forecast is calling for sun. In the event that the weather does change, you'll be prepared for it. Also bring enough food and water to last you your entire trip plus three days. If you'll be in an area with water, you'll only need to bring something to purify it with.

Slide In Camper – Benefits Of Owning One

Anyone shopping for recreational vehicles will soon find there are almost as many choices as there are people to choose them. When hauling is the desired route and a truck is at hand, slide in campers can be a great way to go.

Slide in campers offer a number of benefits over other forms of camping vehicles. They include:

* Pricing. Most slide in campers tend to be more affordable than drivable campers, such as full RVs. They are considered middle of the road, typically, making them affordable for many. Since they can readily be found on both the used and new markets, pricing buys are generally available.

* Protection. These campers tend to have windows and solid walls. Due to this fact, many consider these designs to be a step up from both a tent, of course, and a pop up camper. The fully enclosed design offers protection from the elements, bugs and other pests that might try to crash in on a camping trip. This can be a great feature for families that have concerns about camping and small children. Since the camper itself is fully enclosed, there should be no worries about children getting out at night or critters getting in.

Camping Food – An Essential Part Of The Fun

You've got to feel sorry for the folks who've never been camping before in their lives. My own wife is one of these individuals. I was utterly shocked to find out. She's the type that lists out endless reasons why she doesn't want to go camping. Yeah, you know the kind. The tent is too small, the ground is too hard, there are bugs everywhere, you can't take a shower in the middle of the woods, bla bla bla. The list will go on forever if you allow her to continue. But instead of doing that, I address the finer aspects of wilderness life. There's the fresh clean air, the moon and stars above, the peace and quiet, the solitude and of course the tasty camping food. Need I even say more?

Pop Up Camper – Offering The Best Of Two Worlds

If you are one of the millions of people who enjoy camping then you do not need to be told about the allure of open spaces, fresh air, and time away from the rush of civilization. You also do not need to be told about the chilly nights, biting bugs, dirty tents, and makeshift bathroom facilities that campers must endure. For those who enjoy camping but can do without the down-and-dirty experience that roughing it entails, campers often bridge the gap for them.

Campers are available in many different shapes and sizes. From gigantic RVs (recreational vehicles) to smaller camper vans, there is a vehicle that can suit nearly any sized family with nearly any amenity you can imagine. But what about those individuals who do not wish to purchase a vehicle that is only suitable for camping? It is not surprising to learn that most people possess neither the space nor resources to store and maintain a massive RV that is only used a handful of times per year. For those for whom a RV is not an option there is another option, and that is the pop up camper.

Getting The Right Outdoor Camping Equipment

We used to do a lot of camping when the kids were little and we all really enjoyed it. Camping vacations are more fun when you have the correct outdoor camping equipment. Camping doesn't mean you have to be uncomfortable.

One of the most important purchases is the tent. They range from one man tents to group tents which can sleep twelve people or more. Decide on the size and if a basic tent will do or if you need something to withstand bad weather conditions. Look at marquees, gazebos and awnings. Make sure the tent has a good groundsheet and adequate tent pegs and poles. You'll need a mallet to knock the pegs in. Some outdoor camping equipment stores sell tent food larders and storage pouches for clothes. The larders help to protect the food from wasps and bugs. You can get cool boxes, picnic hampers and camp fridges too.
