Choosing Your Outdoor Gear And Camping Tents

Everyone knows that two of the main requirements for camping is a sleeping bag and camping tent. They are what makes the basis of your equipment and are two of the camping supplies required to enjoy your trip effectively. This tent should be able to provide the camper with adequate shelter from any given element that may be present depending on the season. Eureka tents are one of the many popular brands purchased for camping.

As well as brands there are also styles and one is the canvas camping tent. One of the advantages of using a canvas camping tent is its capacity to be inherently cooler than a nylon tent under a blazing sun. The color of the canvas reflects the heat without absorbing it. Canvas is friendlier to the environment, because it is made from natural fibres and fabrics and is a sustainable resource.

What Is In Your Camping Water?

If you are a camper, you may already know that the water is probably unsafe to drink. Generally, campgrounds get their water from a well in the ground and you can bet, it's not filtered. But that doesn't mean you can't have safe water for cooking and drinking while enjoying the beautiful outdoors.

A good portable water purifier is essential. The type of water purifier that uses Ultraviolet Treatment in the final stage of the process are highly recommended.

When shopping around for a portable UV water filtration system, keep these things in mind. You want a system that uses pre-filtration to screen out large debris. Sediment filtration is also important to remove any unseen sand or dirt. Carbon filtration is also recommended, every molecule of water is forced through the microscopic pores of carbon, effectively straining out particle matter. These three stages of the water filtration lead to the final purification process, the Ultraviolet Treatment. After the carbon filter has cleansed the water, it is exposed to intense dosages of UV light. This exposure effectively destroys viruses, bacteria, fungi, algae and protozoa. A 12Volt DC Power Supply is needed. This type of system can be expensive but well worth the cost.

Camping Trailers For Sale – Why So Many?

It seems like each generation has a different idea of what they want to do for their retirement years. Retirement planning has become more of a concern for people because we are now living longer than in the past. In years past people would only live for a few years once they stopped working and then they would die. Also in the past there were fewer corporations that people worked for. When we were a nation of farmers, which is self employment, people kept working until they could not any more and then their families took care of them.

Used Pop Up Buying Tips

Shopping for a used pop up camper? If you answered yes then you need to consider a few things before making a purchase. Being prepared before going out camper shopping can save you money and potential headaches down the road. Some things you should research are: what will you tow with, how much are you going to spend, what camper layout suits you and what to look for in a used pop up.

First and foremost, make sure you have the appropriate tow vehicle to safely pull a camper. Check the manufacturers towing recommendations in you owners manual. Sometimes this information is not clear in the manual so a call to the dealer may be in order.

Camping Hammocks – Comfortable And Fun

I always thought camp hammocks makes were cool, but assumed that they were sort of a novelty. Portable hammocks, or so I figured, would just like folding camp chairs – something to make you a little bit more comfortable while you are hanging around your campsite, but far from a necessity. I am a pretty serious camper, and when I go out into the woods I don't take much in the way of comfort items. All I tale when I camp is my tent, my bag, some food, and some clothing. That is about it. Sometimes I'll take a good book to read or a harmonica along to play as we sit by the campfire, but never anything particularly large and bulky. I figure that camping hammocks, no matter how comfortable, were not for me.

I did not realize what a useful thing a camping hammock could be. Camping hammocks, after all, don't really go along with the traditional approach to camping. Traditionally, you get tents, sleeping bags, and maybe a sleeping pad. You sleep on the ground and use the sleeping bag to insulate you. Camping hammocks, however, greatly simplify the process. The really cool thing about them is that they insulate you from the ground. You may not believe this, but an all weather camping hammock is going to be more comfortable than all but the warmest looking bags. This is because you are surrounded by air. Ground quickly takes heat away from you, but the air does not.

Camping Tents

So you've decided to go camping. You've check out the camp sites that are accredited by the ACA or American Camping Association and KOA or Kampgrounds of America. Now you need to decide how much you want to rough it. Are you staying in an RV, or a pop up camper? Perhaps you're pulling a travel trailer. Much too luxe for you, you say. You're a real man and all you need is a sleeping bag and a tent.

Choosing a tent for camping is the first task for any camping trip. What type of weather conditions are you expecting? Always be prepared for the worst, rain, wind, and cold. There are three season and four season tents available. Four season tents are heavier than three season tents. They tend to have more poles than three season tents to help them withstand wind and snow fall. Of course, most of us are fair weather campers. A three season tent will be fine for us. So, now, what style of tent do you want?

Intelligent Camping

A lot of people still think that all they need to do when planning a camping trip is find a good campsite and prepare all their gear. Don’t get me wrong; this is very important. But that’s not all there is to do when you’re making preparations for camping. As a matter of fact, I personally think that that’s only about half of it. The other half involves using a little bit of smarts and a lot of common sense. A lot of times, campers tend to find themselves in situations which could have been avoided if only they were paying attention.

When looking for a good campground, always keep in mind that not all campgrounds are appropriate for every camper. If you’re new to camping, for example, it’s always a good decision to pick a public camping spot that’s close to your home. Avoid going to far-off locations when you’re just starting out. Remember also that public campgrounds are run by a government agency; therefore regulations and services tend to be consistent and reliable. Privately-run camping sites, on the other hand, usually vary in their services, amenities, and policies. It’s also never a good idea to set up camp in an RV park when you’re in a tent. The noise from all the air-conditioning and power generators will keep most campers up during the night when they’re supposed to be sleeping.
