Camping Is Family Fun

Camping is a lot of fun for people who enjoy the opportunity to spend some quieter moments in the woods. For individuals who are able to get away for a few days, the experience can be invigorating. The challenge of going without many routine life conveniences in itself can be gratifying to those who like to rough it. One of the greater challenges, however, is faced when the camping trip is accompanied by others who are not quite as exuberant.

Let's suppose you have big plans for a long weekend in the woods. You take half a day off of work on Friday and intend to stay until Monday evening. This time, though, it's a family trip. You are anxious to experience a few refreshing days of family time away from the city or suburbia, but your spouse has marginal interest and your children are easily bored. What do you do?

Clean Camping

Summer is here, schools are letting out. Time for some family fun and for many Americans, that means camping. Mothers everywhere cringe at all the dirt and grime and germs associated with outdoor living, even if just for one night. I'm one of those mothers and I'll share with you how I've combated the icks and yucks my three sons seem to gravitate to.

Go clean. My sons are required to shower or bathe within 12 hours of departure. This may seem like common sense, but I was surprised at how many kiddos hit the campground filthy. If your kids are clean when you go, they'll be less dirty when they come back.

Family Camping Fun

While getting away from the hustle and bustle of city life is one of the reasons families choose to go camping, for kids – it’s the ultimate adventure. If you are planning a family camping trip this summer, here are some tips that will ensure your vacation is both a safe and fun experience.

1. Pre-camping preparation. If you have small children, you may want to select a tent that will accommodate all if you comfortably. On the other hand, if you are camping with older children, it may be a good idea to purchase additional pup tents to give them some sense of independence.

Another great tip is to practice assembling the tents in your backyard so as to avoid wasting time at the camp site.

Camping Holidays – Great Family Fun

One of the biggest sources of unhappiness in our society is that people think that you can't live well without having a lot of money. Because of this, a lot of folks work long hours so that they can spend their money on extravagant vacations. They will find ways to even make camping holidays expensive, taking tours to exotic locations instead of enjoying the camping sites around them. The truth is that with a little basic outdoors knowledge, you can go to some beautiful campsites no matter where you live. You can enjoy nature, see some spectacular views, and feel good about the fact that you're saving money while doing it.

Of course, it is easy for me to say this. I grew up taking camping holidays. My parents never went on those expensive camping holiday trips – the ones guided by tour guides in foreign countries. They knew enough about the woods that they could get around pretty much anywhere they wanted to go. We even took camping holidays to exotic destinations like Australia and New Zealand. Basically, the cost was low no matter where we went. All we had to do was pay for transportation, and the rest would practically be free.

Family Fun Camping Trips

One of the greatest experiences for family bonding is a camping trip. By leaving all the electronics at home for a few days, you and your family are forced to spend time getting to know one another once again.

While a camping trip can be a lot of work it can also be a lot of fun. Cooking over a campfire or even with a camp stove is quite different than using the microwave at home. The results may be quite different than the microwave stuff you cook at home. Maybe you will discover you really like the taste of food that is cooked over a real fire. Since there is not a dishwasher, you will have to wash some dishes by hand even if you choose to use disposable forks and plates.

Tents Make Family Camping Fun

When was the last time you got out some tents and went into the woods for a weekend of family fun? If you don't have a quality tent, but you're eager to get the kids outdoors, shopping online for tents makes the process quick and easy.

Make sure you allow enough room for everyone to feel comfortable in their home away from home. Certain cabin tents will allow some members of your family to fully stand up inside the tent, which makes changing your clothes or simply stretching out in the morning a little bit easier. Allow at least 30 square feet of floor space per person.
