* The number of people in your family. Tents are typically labeled according to how many people they will sleep. 1. Picking the Correct Size Family Tent

Family camping tents are all rated with a size according to how many people they can sleep. There are two person tents, three person tents, etc but you don’t reach family cabin tents size until you get to five or greater. Regardless of what the size rating says, make sure you buy one that is big enough for you, your camping gear, and a little bit of extra space for each person. A family of 5 should probably look at an 8 person tent so that there is enough room for everybody as well as your camping gear. You many want to consider a family dome tent as they usually provide more floor space than other tent designs.

Quality winter tents (also called 4 season tents) are designed to shield you from wind, cold and forms of precipitation while providing ventilation.

Before I get into some factors of choosing a good winter tent, keep in mind that the usage of a winter/four season tent doesn't need to be restricted to winter conditions - it will work in good or mild conditions as well. Remember that although you can use your 4 season tent in warm weather, many of them trap heat and don't have the ventilation to keep you cool - unless it's a lightweight 4 season tent.
