Basics Of Camping

Camping trips are always exciting. What could be better than getting the clean fresh air that only natural settings can provide? Unfortunately, camping trips may also lead to serious injury or even death. You'll be away from civilization and around dangerous animals, bugs, and even plants. One should always plan in advance of a camping trip so that they can be fully prepared for any emergencies. In this article I'll give you a few sound pieces of advice to consider before going camping.

Firstly, you need to take care of the basic needs like food, clothing, and shelter. Check the forecast before you head out, but don't take it for granted that the weather will be true to the forecast. For instance, bring rain gear even if the forecast is calling for sun. In the event that the weather does change, you'll be prepared for it. Also bring enough food and water to last you your entire trip plus three days. If you'll be in an area with water, you'll only need to bring something to purify it with.

Camping Supplies

It's great to get away for the weekend into the countryside under canvas. There is nothing to beat breathing fresh air and eating outdoors, surrounded by beautiful scenery. Of course, having the right camping supplies and equipment makes the experience all the more enjoyable.

The basics are the most important to get right. Tents vary in price and size, from the simple one-man variety to large family tents. It's important to choose one that suits the terrain and climate of the destination. Some tents are only designed for summer weather and any winter camping will require a 4-season tent. Most people like to have some kind of air mattress to sleep on. It cushions against the ground and offers insulation too. These come in single, double and king size with pillows and pumps that can be charged up from a car battery.

Tents Are For Life, Not Just For Christmas

We all love to go camping, there's nothing like being outdoors and taking in the fresh air that surrounds us. It's no wonder that camping has increased in popularity so rapidly since the credit crunch hit in early 2008. People are going back to the UK holiday, packing their bags and getting off on a great holiday for little or no money. There's only one thing that you need before get along to a great holiday, and that's a great tent!

The first thing to consider when buying a tent is simple -is it going to be a long term relationship or is it simply for a one off trip? THere's been a strange shift recently - people have been going towards a line of thought that says that tents should be throw away, that they should be cheap, cheerful, and "once only". Personally I think this mindset is part of the tragedy of our age, a mindset that considers nothing valuable and everything as waste.

A Truck Camper – The Ultimate In Freedom

Each year millions of campers leave the confines of their homes and neighborhoods and set off on a quest for the fresh air and open spaces of the great outdoors. But campers are no different than other vacationers, and the degree to which they escape the comforts of home can vary greatly. Some campers like to travel in their RV (recreational vehicle) in which they can enjoy all the comforts of home and then some! Some RVs have more amenities than many homes or hotels!

In contrast to the RV camper, some people truly like to rough it and live off the land as their ancestors did. For them a tent and fire provide their basic necessities, and the fun lies in getting away from modern creature comforts. However, not all campers are interested in staying in one place. Sportsman - like hunters or fisherman - or those who simply like to explore, need something different that will provide them with shelter, comfort, and mobility, and nothing fills that role like a truck camper.

Pop Up Camper – Offering The Best Of Two Worlds

If you are one of the millions of people who enjoy camping then you do not need to be told about the allure of open spaces, fresh air, and time away from the rush of civilization. You also do not need to be told about the chilly nights, biting bugs, dirty tents, and makeshift bathroom facilities that campers must endure. For those who enjoy camping but can do without the down-and-dirty experience that roughing it entails, campers often bridge the gap for them.

Campers are available in many different shapes and sizes. From gigantic RVs (recreational vehicles) to smaller camper vans, there is a vehicle that can suit nearly any sized family with nearly any amenity you can imagine. But what about those individuals who do not wish to purchase a vehicle that is only suitable for camping? It is not surprising to learn that most people possess neither the space nor resources to store and maintain a massive RV that is only used a handful of times per year. For those for whom a RV is not an option there is another option, and that is the pop up camper.

Planning Your Camping Food

10 Fun Camping Activities For Kids To Do On A Camping Trip

Camping is fun as it is your opportunity to break away from the hectic routine of city life. Imagine being able to breathe the fresh air while at the same time releasing and submitting yourself completely to nature. Besides adults, kids also enjoy going camping outdoors. However if your camping trip takes too long, they might get bored after a few days away from their television and computer. That could spell disaster. Don't fret though, below are 10 camping activities that would surely keep them entertained and occupied.

1. Get wet and go splashing. If you cannot find a good swimming spot, normally most of the camping parks would suggest where you could find a good and safe spot for you to swim, either a big lake or a small brook. Some of them might have their own swimming pools. Avoid the swimming pool at all costs and go swimming in a lake amidst nature. The experience that you'll get is indescribable. Some camping parks would offer a boat rental service, where you could rent a boat or canoe for a small fee. Your kids will have a blast. A word of caution, never leave your kids swimming by themselves. Be watchful at all times.

Family Fun Camping Trips

One of the greatest experiences for family bonding is a camping trip. By leaving all the electronics at home for a few days, you and your family are forced to spend time getting to know one another once again.

While a camping trip can be a lot of work it can also be a lot of fun. Cooking over a campfire or even with a camp stove is quite different than using the microwave at home. The results may be quite different than the microwave stuff you cook at home. Maybe you will discover you really like the taste of food that is cooked over a real fire. Since there is not a dishwasher, you will have to wash some dishes by hand even if you choose to use disposable forks and plates.
