Learn The Facts On Camping And Hiking

Camping and hiking are 2 activities that are nearly always available irrespective of where somebody might live. There are usually state parks, rivers, open plains, mountains, forests or other natural environments that are found just outside of towns and cities where an individual person can run away from it all and enjoy nature, if it is for an afternoon, for a weekend, maybe a week long excursion. Planning for a hiking vs a camping excursion is far simpler, only requiring the right kind of clothing and shoes are chosen according to the weather and terrain. Camping trips need more planning, including the choice to use an RV, camp out of the back of an automobile, or to hike into the campsite carrying everything in the backpack.

When choosing a tent, you first need to know what style of camping you are looking to do. Are you planning to use your tent to go hunting or fishing? Will you need to carry it on your back for back country camping? Will you simply drive to your campsite and then set up? Each style of camping requires different types of tents which means that you will have to choose based on the type of tent that best suits its use. Be sure that your tent is built for camping in whatever season you need it for.

Family Tents – Looking For A Good One

Finding the family tents can be a challenge. With a little work, you can find the one that suits your needs. There is such a wide variety of styles and colors to chose from, you are sure to be able to find just the right tent for your family to camp in. No matter the size of your family, from 2 people to 12 the right tent is out there and shouldn't break the bank cost wise.

Tents today are much easier to set up then they were in the past. No more color-coded rods and bars that need to be figured out to make the tent sit right. Today, the tents usually use what are known as shock-rods. They are connected through tubes with sturdy elastic. They snap together easily and slip through the rod pockets on the tents. Simply bend them into the proper loop at the edges of the tent and voila - you are ready to go!

A "condo" style tent is a little more complicated, in that you must set place the rods of all three tents in, then follow explicit instructions to get them set up correctly. These tents have "pass through" windows in the two smaller tents so that all three can be linked together. Usually the two smaller tents will sleep 2 adults with the larger tent sleeping up to 6. This tent can also be broken down into three completely separate tents. This is great for a family who would like a measure of privacy, but still wants easy access to small children. For a smaller family, the smaller tents can be used as a storage area for suitcases and such, keeping the sleeping area clutter free.
