Learn The Facts On RV Camping

Before we can discus the true nature of RV camping, we must first understand the method thru which one becomes an RV camper to begin with. While it's right that there's much fun that may be had by enjoying nature from the floor of a standard tent, for many people seeing nature and being part of it is kind of enough. There isn't any need to sleep in it too.

Naturally one can spruce up a tent ; you should buy cots and mattresses and fans and what have you. But then you'll need an external electrical supply for your tent as you're going to need to blow up the mattresses, and run the fans, unless you happen to carry your own portable generator or have some crafty hookup to your car engine. Then when you have worked out what you want, you may then have to carry all that accessories to the campsite. When one adds this all up vis costs and aggravation it's a difficulty sell to most busy folks.

Camping Supplies

It's great to get away for the weekend into the countryside under canvas. There is nothing to beat breathing fresh air and eating outdoors, surrounded by beautiful scenery. Of course, having the right camping supplies and equipment makes the experience all the more enjoyable.

The basics are the most important to get right. Tents vary in price and size, from the simple one-man variety to large family tents. It's important to choose one that suits the terrain and climate of the destination. Some tents are only designed for summer weather and any winter camping will require a 4-season tent. Most people like to have some kind of air mattress to sleep on. It cushions against the ground and offers insulation too. These come in single, double and king size with pillows and pumps that can be charged up from a car battery.

Sleeping Pad Buying Guide

Sleep is an important aspect of the human life pattern. Getting the appropriate hours of sleep is vital to be able to function well all throughout the day. Sleep also helps in keeping an individual function appropriately in a social setting.

Getting appropriate sleep is also just necessary when one is out in the woods and is vulnerable to the harsh realities of nature. Sleeping during camping could be a very difficult thing to do, especially when there is no good sleeping pads available for you to slumber in.

During these moments, it would be best to think that avoiding such situations is the better part to do than reacting to something that is readily preventable.

For this reason, before going out there, it is best to buy the best sleeping pad you could find that could most probably give you the best sleep you have ever had when in the outdoors.

A Black Swiss Army Knife Alone Does Not Make It Camping

Particular items are necessary when a family camps. Things essential at a campground are the same as those used at home. The basics are food, water, shelter, clothing, fire, and light. A fishing pole, black Swiss Army knife, and courageous attitude is also a big help. At night, things crawl around and go bump in the night, while there is hardly any light.

Shelter is protection from the outside elements. Tents are a basic kind of shelter for a campsite, outside of making dirt a place to sleep. Tents need to be selected based on how much equipment and how many persons will be traveling. The size of tents are based on twos.

Camping – Love It Or Hate It

In my family, we have camping lovers and camping haters. My husband, kids, and I love to go camping. My mother just stares at me every time I talk about an upcoming camping trip and asks why I want to leave my brand new home that has a brand new bed with a brand new mattress so that I can go sleep in the woods on a mattress I fill with air. Being the articulate person I am I say, “Because it’s fun.”

It’s hard to explain to a non camper how relaxing it is to be out in the open air all day at a campground with miles of trails to hike and bike; or by a lake to go swimming, boating, or fishing in.

I tell my Mom how it’s fun to explore the area trails; looking at the views, the vegetation, and the wildlife. For example, during a recent camping trip an evening bike ride brought me within 10 feet of a baby deer out with its mother. It’s hard to explain how fun it is to be able to see something like that.

Camping Shoes

Camping is a fantastic hobby, but it is one that requires some special gear. From a place to sleep and bags to do it in down to backpacks and camping shoes, the items chosen to take along can greatly impact the fun factor of the outing.

When choosing camping shoes, it is a very good idea to take a few things into account. Some trips might actually require more than one pair to ensure that optimum foot coverage and comfort aren't overlooked. The things to consider in camping shoes include:

* Terrain. This will greatly impact the kinds of shoes needed for camping. For example, a boating trip to the beach for a weekend of camping will very likely call for different foot attire than a trip into the mountains backpacking and sleeping out underneath the stars. While sandals and sneakers are a go for the boating trip, they won't serve a person well in the woods.

* Activities planned. The kinds of activities campers intend to do will greatly impact the choices of camping shoes that are recommended. That beach trip, for example, might call for nothing more than flip flops. Hiking, biking, fishing and even hunting will call for very different foot gear. Think waterproof or at least resistant for fishing trips and even hikes in the woods. Dry feet tend to be much happier than wet ones!

Do You Need A Good Camping Chair?

I am not much of a camper, so I never thought I would be concerned about owning a camping chair. I have gone a few times, but I have never liked it. I like the day time just fine, but at night, I cannot sleep on the ground, and even an air mattress doesn’t seem to help. It’s not the comfort, though I’ve had better, it’s about how my back feels in the morning when I wake up. I always have pain and I am always stiff and sore until the next night, and then it just gets worse from there on out.

However, this has nothing to do with the camping chair. They are great for camping, and if you are going, you had better have a good one. They aren’t what they used to be though, so choosing one might be a matter of preference more than durability. Some have cup holders and others have armrests. There are some that have foot stools built right in. For the most part, each type of camping chair is comfortable, and most of the newer ones come so that they can be folded up and slung over the shoulder.

These are great for camping, but they are even better for everything else. If you think about all of the places you have gone when you have wished you had a chair with you, you know what I am talking about here. You can take these just about anywhere and you will be glad you have camping chair with you in most cases. If you are going to a parade, to see fireworks, or going to a park for the afternoon, it is always a good idea to have one with you. They are even great if you want to sit in your yard but you don’t want to leave anything outside overnight.

What You Need to Survive Outdoors

Why I practice bushcraft & survival

I'm a keen camper, but I'm certainly not as hardy as the likes of Ray Mears or Bear Grylls. For me it's fair weather all the way.

But a few of my tougher camping buddies were discussing what they would need, as a minimum, in order to spend a few nights outdoors at this time of year in the UK (its springtime and still very cold at night).

We concluded that the bare essentials would consist of shelter, somewhere warm to sleep and the means to create fire and find food and water. So the outcome of the beer fuelled conversation has been the challenge for us to spend two days and nights surviving and sleeping outdoors.

Good Camping Beds

Camping is a great way to enjoy the outdoors. But, nothing will bring that good time to a halt faster than having to sleep on cold, lumpy ground. Being uncomfortable will hamper sleep and make everyone irritable and tired. Using good quality bedding however, will help make sleeping outdoors much more comfortable, allowing a good night’s sleep. You can wake up refreshed and ready to start your day hiking or canoeing or just relaxing.

Sleeping bags are the traditional method of sleeping outdoors, but putting even the best sleeping bag on the hard ground can prove uncomfortable. Using a camping bed in conjunction with a sleeping bag can provide comfort and warmth. Camping beds are sold in outdoor sporting goods stores and can also be found by shopping on the Internet. There are a variety of camping beds available and one is sure to meet your needs.

Inflatable beds are beds that are cushioned with air. These require use of an air compressor or pump to inflate. There are also self inflating beds available which provide convenience but cost a little more. The beds provide a comfortable sleeping area. Some inflatable beds are bulky, though, and may be also be heavy. Because they are inflatable, there is also chance for puncture. Ensure they are used on flat ground with no sharp objects in the way. Inflatable beds come in single sizes all the way up to king size to fit more than one person.
