Learn The Facts On Camping And Hiking

Camping and hiking are 2 activities that are nearly always available irrespective of where somebody might live. There are usually state parks, rivers, open plains, mountains, forests or other natural environments that are found just outside of towns and cities where an individual person can run away from it all and enjoy nature, if it is for an afternoon, for a weekend, maybe a week long excursion. Planning for a hiking vs a camping excursion is far simpler, only requiring the right kind of clothing and shoes are chosen according to the weather and terrain. Camping trips need more planning, including the choice to use an RV, camp out of the back of an automobile, or to hike into the campsite carrying everything in the backpack.

Selecting A Good Campsite

Let it be known that I’m an avid, happy camper and I love the outdoors. With that said, I’ve also met a lot of people who would love to try camping but don’t know where to start. It’s perfectly understandable that they wouldn’t want to go out and try something new without preparing for it, so I decided to write a short article that will provide some essential information for camping beginners, and send them on their way to experiencing and enjoying the joys of camping and the outdoors.

If you’re just starting out camping, I would suggest visiting one of the plentiful public campgrounds that you can find in national and state parks. Always pick the one that’s nearest to your home if possible. These public campgrounds are usually run by government agencies like the Bureau of Land Management, the Army Corps of Engineers, etc. They are typically found along scenic spots and on vast lands that are set aside for preserving the natural environment, and for people who want to enjoy the outdoors. Where to find them? Going online is the best way to do so. Websites like Park Net and Reserve USA offer a vast database of information about ideal and available camping spots.

The Joys Of Camping In Pennsylvania (PA)

Yellowstone and Yosemite are some of the most renowned and most known by outdoor lovers. Camping in Pennsylvania is not as well known as these other places. Yet, for campers and outdoor lovers alike there are things you should know about the camping and state parks in Pennsylvania.

Most state parks are open seasonal. Pennsylvania has three state parks that are open year round. These parks are Little Pine, Ole bull, and Promised Land. The cold might be a factor for some campers. The state is located in the upper northeast and winters see snowfall and cold temperatures. This can be remedy by the cabins available at the campsites.

At one particular park Promised Land has a 422 acre lake, which fishing is a common pastime. During the winter season ice fishing is also a big hit among visitors. That is not the only attraction during the long winter months. Campers in Pennsylvania enjoy cross country skiing and twenty three miles of snowmobile trails.

Campfire Safety

Campfire negligence is a leading cause of forest fires and also causes many camping injuries and deaths. Only build your campfires in designated areas. Nevada Camping

The state of Nevada has varied terrain, including desert, mountains, rivers, forests and lakes. It's a terrific area for observing wildlife and geological wonders. There are numerous ways to enjoy the scenery but Nevada camping sites get visitors close to the natural world. Many of these campgrounds are contained within State Parks and conservation areas.

Dayton State Park is 12 miles from Carson City but there is no sense of being so close to civilization as the Carson River runs through the park and the rugged cliffs are in the background. There are ten campsites for tents and RVs and space is confined to 34 feet in length. The campground has a dumping station and picnic spots and it's one of the best Nevada camping locations for bird watching, fishing or hiking. The pavilion has an electricity supply, tables and barbecue and is popular with groups. The pavilion can be booked in advanced for functions, such as birthday celebrations, weddings or children's parties.
